Engr. Olatunde Wasiu Olokunola, the Director, Civil Engineering Department was born on December 9, 1951.
He had his primary school education at Holy Trinity School, Ebute Ero, Lagos. His secondary school education was at Molusi College, Ijebu-Igbo, where he obtained the Secondary School Certificate and had his Advanced level studies at Charles Keene College, Leicester, England. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Engineering at the University of Leicester, England, an M.Sc. Urban Development Planning at the University of London, England and also had a short course on commercialization of Road Development at University of Birmingham.
He had his pupilage in Engineering with Richard Sauter Maschien Bau of Munchen, West Germany. After gradutaion, he joined the Consulting Firm of Messrs Adejumo, Ogunsola & Partners and was involved in design and supervision of Naval Dockyard Victoria Island as well as the design of Katsina-Ala road in Benue State.
In 1980, he joined Lagos State Development and Property Corporation as Engineer responsible for the Civil & Structural Engineering Works. HE rose to the post of Deputy General Manager before his deployment to the Ministry of Works in August, 1999, while in L.S.D.P.C., he was responsible for the design of medium to high rise buildings amongst them is the Texaco building at the McCarthy Street in Central Lagos. He was also fully involved in the design of Estate roads like M.K.O. Abiola Housing Estate, Ikeja and T.O.S. Benson Housing Estate, Ikorodu.
Since his redeployment to the Ministry of Works & Infrastructure he was engaged in the improvement of drainage system from block wall type to reinforced walls on both sides for better aesthetics, he also encouraged the use of interlocking stones technology as pavement material in areas with low bearing pressure.
Involved in the new concept of road development through Private Sector Participation. Also, in the design of Roads, Bridges and other Marine Structures for the State Government.

2. Simplify Concrete Structural Element using Coefficient Method (Published in September, 2005)
1. Bending Moment and Sheer Force Coefficients for 2 and 3 spans (Published in 1982).
Recent Awards:
1. Foremost Director of Civil Engineering for Managing Successfully highest number of Civil Engineering Projects ever in Lagos State (2005 Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers Award).
2. United Nations Scholar on Housing for Developing Countries (1987-1988 Award).
